2017 Great Plains Region outdoor sanctioned tournament requirements:
Anyone can apply to run an outdoor tournament.
All Tournament Directors must be current registered members of the Great Plains region with a
current background check.
All Coaches must be current registered members of USA Volleyball with a current background check,
IMPACT certification and SafeSport certification.
Tournament Director responsibilities:
1. Email a list of participants registered for the tournament on a weekly basis so the office can
check to make sure every participant is a registered member of USA Volleyball. This includes
players, coaches, and officials.
2. If a participant is not a member of USA Volleyball, the tournament director must have the
participant fill out an individual membership form at the time of check in and pay a $25
membership fee.
a. Send a copy of the membership form and the $25 to the region office.
b. Coaches cannot sign up as a new member at check-in (due to background and IMPACT
requirements).
c. A player can register on-line for an outdoor membership for $15.
3. Follow USA Beach rules from beach USA rule book and Great Plains Rules for Doubles.

4. Send the region office results for each division. Pictures would also be nice to post.
5. Pay the region for tournament sanction fees, $5 per team or $2.50 per player.
6. The region has 6 outdoor nets to rent for $25 each and outdoor volleyballs for $5 each per event
for non-sanctioned events, and $10 per net and $1 per ball per event for sanctioned events.
Great Plains region responsibilities:
1. We will provide facility and player insurance by sanctioning the event.
2. We will send an email to all our members to advertise the event and post on our website.
3. We will check each participant for a USA Volleyball membership.
Omaha Events only:
The Great Plains Region may also provide a Great Plains sign and a USA Volleyball tent at the event.
As the tournament director for a region sanctioned outdoor event, I agree to the above
requirements.
