Sait VPN user Guide
This guide will provide instructions on how to use the two VPN methods to connect to SAIT’s campus
network remotely.
1 Using Anyconnect VPN on Windows OS
1.1. Installing Anyconnect Client
If you already have Anyconnect Client installed in your computer, skip this step and go to Section 1.2.
Step 1, Make sure you have local admin rights.
You need to have local admin rights in order to install applications. If you do not have local admin
rights, you need to call SAIT helpdesk to have them install Anyconnect for you.
Step 2, Open a web browser, navigate to http://vpn.sait.ca and click on the VPN domain you want to
connect to. You should see a page like below:

This site is protected by certificates issued by DigiCert. You shouldn’t receive any security warnings
when browse to this page.
Step 3, Login to the webpage.
For users who only have one userID, or who have same userIDs in both ADMN and ACDM domains
but have different passwords, they don’t need to specify the user domain when login. If they do specify
the user domain in a domain\username format it is also ok.
The following two examples are both acceptable.
Import: For users who have the same username and password in both ADMN and ACDM
domain, they need to specify the domain name when login.
Step 4, Install Anyconnect
After a successful login, a script downloaded from the website will perform a list of tasks:

OS version in order to determine which version of Anyconnect package is compatible.
4.2, If the VPN server is able to locate a compatible version of Anyconnect , it will try to push the
installation package through ActiveX. You will receive a warning like shown in the picture below.
Click on “Install” and go to step 4.5.
4.3, If ActiveX is disabled, it will try to install the client through Java and you will see the page like
