Slide the shoulder rest onto the end button
between the violin and the tailgut.
Slide the 'n' shape lock down onto the grooves of the shoulder rest.
Ensure the n-shape lock slide down until it
hooks onto the end button tightly.
Secure tighly with Velcro.
Fitting Suggestion 1
If the shoulder rest is sitting too low, you can
add the extension piece to increase the height.
Fitting Suggestion 2
The metal part of the shoulder rest is malleable such that it can be
somewhat bent horizontally and vertically to help fit the contours and
angle of your shoulder.
Dear Phantomrest customer:
The following are some U shaped “Foam Additions” attachment suggestions.
1. The 2 U shaped "Foam Additions" (1 already attached, 1 separate) are "optional" additions to improve
fit security by filling in the gap between the U shaped clamp and violin bottom rib surface.
2. It should only be used for violins equipped with "longer end buttons" which results in a wide U shaped
clamp/violin rib gap.
3. For most violin with regular end buttons, the "already attached Foam Addition" can be removed, and
the attachment should work very well.
If the U clamp and "Foam Addition" is forced in on a regular endbutton, then the "Foam Addition" can
slide off (see attached photo). In addition, the U shaped rubber lip directly contacting the end button is
squeezed out and can destabilize the whole attachment. Most of all, since the U shaped clamp may not
attach on to the end button properly, the "tongue" on the N shaped velcro lock will have a hard time
locking behind the end button seriously destabilizing the attachment.
Please keep the above points in mind to make sure your shoulder rest is properly attached.
