Are you game? - Bristol City Council

‘Are you game?’ CAMPAIGN 2017
partnership opportunity
What is the ‘Are you game?’ campaign
To celebrate European City of Sport 2017, the council is inviting its partners to work with them on a campaign to encourage local people to:
• Find out about opportunities to participate in local sports clubs and activities • Try out new sports and activities
• Be inspired by people’s stories of trying a sport or activity Who is the target audience?
• Residents who are physically inactive
• Residents whose participation in sports has lapsed
• Economically and/or geographically disconnected residents
• Women and girls
• Schools and families
• Black and minority ethnic people How will the campaign work?
•
Sports providers, clubs and organisations across the city open their doors to new members, to try a session for free to encourage them to take up something new.
•
All you need to do is tell us a few details about how your free sessions will work, and we will help you promote it citywide.
•
We’ll then gather stories of people who got involved and tried something new and share these stories over the year, giving multiple opportunities to showcase your organisation, sport or club!
What are the key messages?
There are masses of free sporting and other physical activities available across the city. There’s something for everyone, it’s fun to
have a go. Find your game at bristolcityofsport17.co.uk
The campaign concept is fun and creative. There are lots of variations on the message:
» “We’re giving the game away” used to advertise a free taster session.
» “We’re game” used as a logo for a sports club offering free activities.
» “Game for a laugh” to encourage people to participate with friends.
» “What’s your game?” use social media to encourage people to tell us about their personal sporting stories.
