2.2. Fixed issue
The following issue is solved in this firmware.

3.1. Functional restrictions

If you modify the number of copies after setting Offset, caution message (Following paper is required to offset) may be
displayed.
* EDH
* Auto Tray Selection Settings = All Tray
* Automatic Image Rotation = ON
* APS
This caution is not displayed if you perform Offset after setting the number of copies.
2.
Linux PPD: In the PageScope Web Connection, "Job" Tab- "Active Job List"- "User Name", "File Name" is not displayed.
3.
Linux PPD: In the OpenOffice, B5(ISO) data is not printed correctly. B5(JIS) size will be requested.
4.
Linux PPD: When choosing Envelope#10 for the BannerPage setting in the CUPS, the image is printed outside the frame
of BannerPage. (restriction of CUPS)
5.
Linux PPD: If you print "number of pages: odd", "duplex printing" and "multiple copies" to set "ON" the Collate of
OpenOffice, it is not printed out as one set of print.(restriction of OpenOffice)
OpenOffice treats the print job as one set of the job. Therefore, the print out made as one set of the job.
6.
Linux PPD: If you register the printer using OOPAdmin, the paper name/size? always displayed in English even when you
select other language. (restriction of OpenOffice)
7.
When you print the MicrosoftOffice document from OpenOffice, the following symptoms may be occurred. (If you edit the
document using OpenOffice, the document may be printed correctly.)
Graphic defect, Image defect, Ornamental writing and filling effect of inside of the graphic (gradation etc.) are not printed
out correctly.
8.
If you print the document using the nonexistent fonts in environment, the following symptoms may be occurred. Garbage
characters, Missing Characters, Characters duplication, Characters rotation etc.
9.
When scanning the job with the following settings, "Full Color/Gray Scale" is displayed in "Color Mode" of HDD-TWAIN.
Paper size: A3
The number of pages: more than 3 pages
Scan mode: compact PDF
10. If the NTLM Settings is set to "V1/ V2", SMB communication is failed when performing "Scan to SMB" to Windows2000
Professional PC that logs in the WindowsNT4.0 domain.
11. When restarting the MFP after updating the FW with IISW, copier may not be booted correctly.
[Recovery Method]
Please turn OFF and ON the Main Power of copier.
12. With the maximum number (100) of the addresses are registered, if the user log out once and then log in again within 20
seconds, it takes longer (Approx. 20 seconds) to be display the default screen. This happens when Scan/Fax is selected
as default Screen.

13. You cannot upgrade using ISW from Initial Function Version, Function Enhancement1 or Function Enhancement2 to this
Version.
If the firmware is GW6-R6 or former, the following symptom occurs.
When upgrading to this firmware (GPW-R6), please perform the following procedure.
If turn ON the main switch for the first time (only first time) after upgrading this firmware, “The Arp of any IP address other than
IP address that is set is sent” occurs. [PEBJKK09005573, PEBJKK09006549, PEBJAC09004039, PEBNZ_09001091]
This symptom does not occur when turning ON the main switch for second times or more.
Please follow the following procedure after upgrading the firmware.
1. After upgrading the firmware, remove a network cable from the MFP before turning ON the main switch.
2. Turn ON the main switch and the sub power switch.
3. After “Ready to copy.” is displayed, insert the network cable.
4. Turn ON the main switch.

4. Upgrade Procedure to this version
Please check the firmware version which is being installed in your bizhub C550 at present before updating the
firmware. Then update the firmware according to either of the following procedures. (4-1. or 4-2. 4-3.)

4-4. Cautions
･ You cannot upgrade using ISW from Initial Function Version, Function Enhancement1 or Function Enhancement2 to this
Version.
･ Even if you upgrade the version to i-Option2, you can use the printer driver and applications for Function Enhancement 2/ioption.
･ If you upgrade the version to i-option2, you cannot perform version down to Initial Function Version, Function Enhancement1
or Function Enhancement2.
･ If you use the License Activation Base Functions (LK-101/102/103), you need to add the additional memory. Please install the
additional memory before you activate the License Activation Base Functions.
･ When you use the My address function and My panel function, you also need to add the additional memory.
･ If you upgrade the version to i-option2, you can use ID&Print (Touch&Print) without Authentication Device.
If you use Authentication function without using the authentication device when updating the version to i-option2, default of
ID&Print is “ON”. When performing login, a job is printed out.
If you do not want to use ID&Print, please set following setting to “OFF”.
Administrator Settings> User Authentication Settings/Account Track> User Authentication Settings> Administrative Settings>
ID&Print Settings> ID&Print
* It excludes it when updating from i-option to i-option2.
･ From ISO15408 compliance reason, after upgrading firmware to this version, the default setting for SMTP RX setting will be
“OFF”. Before upgrading the firmware to this version, please check the SMTP and note SMTP RX setting. After upgrading the
firmware, please configure the SMTP RX setting as it was.
(From ISO 15408 reason,) Administrator Setting -> Network Settings (2/2) -> SMTP RX setting
* It excludes it when updating from i-option to i-option2.

Download the firmware with using Compact Flash Card.
2.
Turn OFF/ON the main power of MFP.
3.
When first time you turn on the MFP after upgrade, "C-E002" is shown on the control panel.

[HDD Version Upgrade (LK)] To convert the data format, select the key as follows.
Select Service Mode > State Confirmation > Memory HDD Adj. > HDD Version Upgrade (LK).
5.
Press "Start" key to start "HDD Version Upgrade (LK)".
6.
Message "Please turn the main switch off and on" will be displayed then turn OFF/ON the main power of MFP.
7.
Message "Address Book upgrade complete" will be displayed then press “OK” button.

1.
Download the firmware with using Compact Flash Card.
2.
Turn OFF/ON the main power of MFP.
3.
When first time you turn on the MFP after upgrade, "C-E002" is shown on the control panel.
4.
[HDD Version Upgrade (LK)] To convert the data format, select the key as follows.
Select Service Mode > State Confirmation > Memory HDD Adj. > HDD Version Upgrade (LK).
5.
Press "Start" key to start "HDD Version Upgrade (LK)".
6.
Message "Please turn the main switch off and on" will be displayed then turn OFF/ON the maim power of MFP.

[Conversion Up] To convert the data format, select the key as follows.
Select Service Mode > State Confirmation > Memory HDD Adj. > Conversion Up.

10. Message "Please turn the main switch off and on" will be displayed then turn OFF/ON the main power of MFP.

4-3. Firmware updating procedure from i-option
1.
Download the firmware with using Compact Flash Card.
2.
Turn OFF/ON the main power of MFP.
3.
Message "Address Book upgrade complete" will be displayed then press “OK” button.
5. HDD conversion up procedure to support XPS printing (ONLY C550/C451)
This procedure is necessary only when the customer is working with Windows Vista environment and intends to print XPS
format document.
Important:
- With this procedure, the part of HDD, which Emperon is using, will be formatted. Once HDD conversion is done,
the font /macro stored in HDD will be lost. Please carry out this procedure according to the customer’s demand.
- There is no compatibility between "XPS Enable Format" and "XPS disable format".
Therefore, if the HDD backup data created by HDD Backup Utility before performing the "XPS Enable Format" is
restored to HDD that was formatted with "XPS enable format", MFP does not work correctly.
1.
To enable the XPS, select the key as follows.
Service Mode > State Confirmation > Memory HDD Adj. > XPS Enable Format
2.
Press "Start" key to start "XPS Enable Format".
3.
Message "Please turn the main switch off and on" will be displayed then turn OFF/ON the main power of MFP.
