Project Description
- Target audience:
The target audience for this app is people affected by EoE
- Target device:
The target devices for this app are iPhone and iPad.
- One paragraph summary of what your app will do:
EoE management will allow those affected by EoE to capture real
time data related to EoE symptoms and quality of life indicators to
give doctors more data regarding their illness. The app will allow
users to submit PEESS (Pediatric Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE)
Symptom Severity Modules. These submissions will appear on a
monthly basis, and the PEESS form will be presented
electronically so the user may fill it out. The user will receive a
notification when it is time to fill out the monthly form. Users will
also have a food diary to record their meals throughout the day
since diet is important for those affected by EoE. The food diary
will require the user to enter basic information regarding the meal
so the doctor may evaluate certain aspects about the patient’s diet.
The entries will be presented in a table format for easy viewing.
- Benefits:
The benefits of this app are an increased amount of data for doctors
to prescribe treatments for EoE patients that use the app. The
electronic submission of the PEESS form will allow users to get
this data to the doctor without having to go anywhere. It will also
be made instantly available to the doctor. Food diary data will also
be made available to the doctor. The food diary will allow users to
keep track of their diet electronically in an easy to use format. It
will also make the EoE patients more aware of their own diet,
which will allow not only doctors, but also the patients to see how
certain foods affect their illness.

The artifacts that reside on the device are the images and other
information content in the food diary.
