to enhance your understanding outside the classroom!
Activity One
Business is EVERYWHERE! From the moment we wake up, right until the
end of the day, we are in contact with businesses.
Write down all the businesses you have been in contact with today,
here’s an idea. . .
I was woken this morning by my alarm on my Apple iPhone, I put on my
M and S slippers, I ate my Kellogg’s Cereal, I stopped at the Shell
petrol station on the way to work to fill up my Mini. . . . . the list goes
on. . . . . how many will you get?
Activity Two
Extra Extra, read all about it!
Business is always a hot topic in the news!
Have a look on the Internet and choose a piece of business news.
Here are some useful websites;

Your task is to summarise the key points of story. You could do this by
hand, or why not add it to one slide in PowerPoint. You could include a
heading and one appropriate picture.
Bring your piece in to class and we will discuss it at the end of this
week’s lesson!
Activity Three
Research Project
Create a booklet on the Scottish Entrepreneur of your choice. This
could be using the computer or use your creative side and create on by
hand!
Here are some ideas of information you can include:
- Background information about your entrepreneur (Age, Location,
How they started out etc)
- When the business started
- What the business does
- How the business has grown
- How much money the business is worth
- Pictures
