In addition to enjoying the company of fellow FBC
members and some ice cream and cookies, the returning
players and new players will be there along with the
coaching staff. Please mark this date on your calendar
and plan to attend.
PRESIDENT’S CORNER
As I’m writing this the temperature outside is 66 degrees and its July 15th! Hard to believe this is really
Oklahoma weather but I’m enjoying it and I’m sure you are also. It will warm up again quickly and we’ll be
wishing for cooler weather so basketball season can begin.
In addition to the ice cream social, here are some dates to put on your calendar:
October 14 – 2013 Pre-Season Banquet, 6-9 pm, Lloyd Noble Center
October 25 – Season Ticket Holder Scrimmage, 6-7:30 pm, Lloyd Noble Center
October 25 – FBC Meet and Greet, 8-9 pm, Women’s BB Practice Court
April 21 – Post-Season Banquet, 6-9 pm, Postal Training Center
April 29 – FBC Golf Tournament, 1-6 pm, Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club
NEW PLAYERS FOR 2013-2014
Gloya Carter, Guard. Carter committed to OU during her junior season at Carl Albert. She led the Titans to
another state tournament this past season, averaging over 18 points and seven rebounds a game. She also excels
as a passer.
T’ona Edwards, Guard. Edwards was a late addition to Oklahoma’s recruiting class. She helped lead Northeast
to the Class 2A state title this past season, averaging 16.7 points and seven rebounds through her senior season.
Felisha Gibbs, Forward. Gibbs, from Earle (ARK) High School averaged 21 points, 12 rebounds, four blocks
and two steals in her senior season, earning all-state honors from the Arkansas Activities Association.
Shaya Kellogg, Forward. Kellogg averaged 12.7 points and 7.3 rebounds for her senior season, earning firstteam All-State honors. After winter break, the 6 ft. 1 in. post shot 50 percent from beyond the arc after
struggling early in the season.
Derica Wyatt, Guard. During her four seasons at Franklin Road Academy in Nashville, TN, Wyatt won two
state championships and three Tennessee Division II-A Miss Basketball awards. She scored 23 points and
grabbed eight rebounds in her final high school game, an overtime, title-game victory.
In addition to these five new players, Peyton Little, Guard, transferred to OU for the fall 2013 semester from
Texas A&M. She will have to sit out the 2013-14 season due to NCAA transfer rules. Little averaged 15
minutes playing in all 35 games for the Aggies. She was a top-25 overall prospect and Top-10 rated guard out
of the Class of 2012. The 5 ft. 11 in. guard averaged 4.5 points and 1.2 rebounds in her debut collegiate season.
We’ll welcome back Sharane Campbell, Aaryn Ellenberg, Morgan Hook, Nicole Kornet, Maddie Manning,
Kaylon Williams, Portia Durrett and Nicole Griffin. We are going to have an exciting 2013-2014 season.
