ANTA Signed Chinese Top Tennis Player Ms. Zheng Jie as
Female Tennis Endorsed Player
Join hands to promote professional tennis development in China
(Beijing, 13 April, 2009) ANTA Sports Products Limited (“ANTA Sports” or “the
Company”, stock code: 2020), a leading branded sportswear enterprises in China,
today is pleased to announce that it has signed an endorsement contract with the
famous Chinese female tennis players Ms. Zheng Jie. The latest endorsement deal
was followed by the signing up of Ms. Jelena Jankovic in January. Together with a
series of marketing strategies taken by ANTA, the cooperation with Ms. Zheng not
only signifies the further expansion of the ANTA brand in tennis segment, but also
promotes the popularity of the sport in China.
A top ranked female tennis player in China, Ms. Zheng has won the Women’s Tennis
Association (“WTA”) doubles titles in Australian Open and Wimbledon, and also
gained recognition when she became the first Chinese player ever to reach the
semifinals of a Grand Slam singles tournament at Wimbledon in 2008. In March 2009,
Ms. Zheng was awarded the “Comeback Player of the Year" at the 2008 WTA Tour
Player Awards, the first Chinese player to have received the accolade.
During the signing ceremony and press conference, Ms. Zheng received the
tailor-made sportswear and advanced tennis shoes for French Open from ANTA
Sports, marking a good start for the cooperation between ANTA and the renowned
Chinese tennis player. Ms. Zheng will be wearing ANTA gears including a range of
professional footwear, apparel and accessories for all her WTA tournaments. ANTA
Sports will invite top designers from the US and Japan to China to tailor-made
sportswear and tennis shoes to meet Ms Zhang’s preferences and requirements.
