About the patterns
Really any baby patterns are fine, and you can knit in any wool you like, all sizes and
shapes welcome!
But, please use acrylic wool, as the hats will have to be washed at very high temperatures.
The patterns below are either for knitting in the round (using 2.5mm DPNs) or on a pair of
2.5mm knitting needles then sewn together. Simply choose the pattern you wish to use.
Crochet patterns are also available separately.

Lace Hat
MATERIALS
The pattern uses 7g of any 4 ply yarn, the amounts required may vary for different yarns.
You will also need one pair of 2.5mm
TENSION – is not important as long as you have used the stated size of needle and wool. If
you wish to use double knit and 4.0mm needles then feel free to do so, though your hat will
be bigger

TENSION – is not important as long as you have used the stated size of needle and wool. If
you wish to use double knit and 4.0mm needles then feel free to do so, though your hat will

The pattern uses 11g of any 4 ply yarn, the amounts required may vary for different yarns.
You will also need one set of 2.5mm DPNs
TENSION – is not important as long as you have used the stated size of needle and wool.

PATTERN
Cast on 80 stitches and split stiches across your DPNs
Join, being careful not to twist, and place marker to indicate beginning of the round
Work in K2, P2 ribbing for 20 rounds (this is the cuff and is optional)
Rounds 1-3: (P1, K2, P1) repeat to the end of the round
Rounds 4-6: (P2, K2) repeat to the end of the round
Rounds 7-9: (K1, P2, K1) repeat to the end of the round

Baby Blankets
We also need baby blankets of any pattern to reach the approximate size of 35cm x 40cm or
14inch x 15 inch. You will need approximately 50g of double knitting yarn to complete a
blanket and we welcome any pattern (knitted or crocheted).
