Broward Companies Wanted For My Next Move Education/Career Fair
One-Day Event Designed To Connect Employers With Region’s Future Workforce
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – April 20, 2016 – As many Broward County high-school seniors prepare to
graduate and enter the next stage of their professional lives, there are still some who do not have a solid
plan for employment or are not fully aware of their career options for further scholastic and training
opportunities.
In an effort to help guide our region’s workforce, Broward County Commissioner Beam Furr and Nadine
McCrea, CEO of Community Enhancement Collaboration Inc., have teamed up with several regional
partners to urge the local business community, organizations of higher learning and government entities
to participate in the My Next Move: An Education/Career & Work Readiness Experience. This one dayevent is designed not only to benefit graduating seniors, but also to give participating employers an
opportunity to either recruit or present viable career pathways to specially selected participants.
Unlike traditional career fairs, participating graduating seniors will apply skills learned from previously
held workshops conducted by Hispanic Unity of Florida, CareerSource Broward and OIC of South Florida.
Topics featured during these workshops will include professionalism, interviewing suggestions, writing
an effective resume and cover letter, soft skills and more.

When: Saturday, May 21, 2016, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
