Governors risk three years jail
term for defying summons

The Senate Public
Accounts and Invest­
ments committee
has warned Govemers of
serious consequences if
they dare ignore'summons
to appear before it.
The consequences
include of a three year jail
term or a fine of Sh5 million
or both, for nonrcompli­
ance according to public
audit law.
Ihe warning came after
the Council of Governors
asked those summoned'
to snub the committees in
protest of the recent public
brawl between Nairobi

Senator Mike Sonko.
