tutorial If you already have an account, you can log in. If you do not have an account, you will need to make one. Click on Join Free. Choose I’m A Student and click on the button. Create a username and password for yourself. If you have one, you may also enter your e-mail address. If your teacher has provided you with a class code, enter the class code and click Use Code. If not, click Don’t Have Code. (You will be able to add one later if necessary.) Click on New Lesson to begin creating your project. An introductory video will pop up, however, our school filter will probably block it. If you are not able to view it, just click Continue. Enter a subject for your canvas. Give your lesson a title. You will be able to change this later if you want to. Use the buttons at the top of the page to format your lesson. The Template button allows you to change the layout. The Color button allows you to change the color. The Play button will allow you to play your lesson after you have added content, and the Print button will allow you to print it. Now, look at the search bar on the right. You have several tools to search, but some of them will not work in school. -Search YouTube: This will not work in school. Avoid using it. For video, try SchoolTube or some of our BCPS databases instead. -Search Google: This will work in school, but you should not be using it to look for webpages. You already have a list from which to work. Image search will not work. -Search OpenEd: This will not work in school. -Search Flikr: This will not work in school. -Search EduCreations: This will work, but avoid using it unless your teacher has directed you to use a specific EduCreation. -Search Gooru: This will not work in school. -Insert Webpage: You can use this to copy and paste websites (such as our BCPS databases) or embed codes. -Upload Media/File: This is where you will upload files from your computer or from a flash drive that you may already have from earlier in the year, such as MS Word documents. -Insert from Dropbox: If you have any files saved to Dropbox that you would like to use, you may import them using this button. You will have to link your account first. -Insert from Google Drive: If you have any files saved to your Google Drive that you would like to use, you may import them using this button. You will have to link your account first. -Insert Bookmark: This will not work in school. At home, you can drag the tool into your bookmark bar to make it easier to add content. To add content from the search bar, click and drag it into one of the tiles in your lesson. After you add content to a tile, enter a label to name each tile. Click Play at the top of the screen to view your presentation. When you are finished, click Share. Your teacher will give you specific directions about how to share your lesson. He or she may ask you to email it to them, or they might prefer that you share it via Edmodo. You may also want to check the privacy settings of your lesson. The recommended privacy settings are shown below. You may also choose “None” for the second question if you do not want anyone to be able to copy any of your content. After you share your lesson, others who have the link to it will be able to like and comment on your content. Here is a sample of what your lesson might look like:
