Groups that are not represented on the PRG and what the practice did to attempt to engage

to try to recruit from these groups.
Methods as above plus suggestions from around the table discussions 06/02/13 & 18/02/14:
 Time of meetings (morning or evening more accessible to working pts)
 Personal invitations
 Involve Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group – advertising in local press
 Notice in church hall
 Students
 Mums & babies
 Timperley Village Young Mums
 Church groups
2013/14 Priorities
How we identified and agreed with the PRG priorities for 2013/14 to be included in a local
practice survey
Discussion minuted at meeting on 06/02/13 where request for priorities for the 2013/14 survey was
made by SF.
Email sent to PPG members and wider reference group before the survey was designed asking for any
suggestions for priorities

Meetings\PPG\Minutes\06.02.13[1].doc
What these priorities were
 Appointments/Access to a clinician
 Telephone access
 Friends & Family test
2013/14 Local Practice Survey
How we agreed with the PRG the content of the local practice survey
The survey was designed by the Practice Manager with suggestions for amendments and approval (via
email) by the PRG
How we agreed with the PRG the way in which the survey would be conducted
Agreement via email that the practice would distribute to patients visiting the surgery until the agreed
number of responses had been received. Also made available on the practice website to try to
increase response rates.
From previous discussions the number of responses was increased to 200 to try to ensure a sufficiently
large sample and cross-section of patients had completed the form.
Other methods used to seek the views of registered patients
Comments/complaints/suggestions forms available for completion at the reception desk.

2013/14 Action Plan
2013/14 Action Plan (and how this relates to the findings of the local practice survey)
Refer to minutes of meeting 23.10.13 above
Significant changes we have made / plan to make to the services the practice provides
 Dr Stratford-Smith joined the practice in May 2013 as a GP Partner.
 The practice has recruited an additional Nurse Practitioner to increase access for urgent (on the
day) appointments).
 There is more information available via the website, waiting room tv screen and practice booklet to
try to ensure patients are aware of the other members of the clinical team and their roles.
 Waiting room chairs recovered to replace worn fabric and ensure CQC compliance.
 The practice has also recruited an apprentice via Trafford College on a 12 month term – this will
enhance our reception team whist providing on the job training and qualifications for the person
concerned.
