Peking’s Hall of People with new door controller from
Germany
Doors from EFAFLEX work spectacularly for their Chinese sales and
service partner DOUBLE STAR: the underground garage of the Great Hall
of the People in Peking is now secured with an EFA-SST®-L Premium door.
The highest security levels are needed here, where the armoured
limousines of Chinese statesmen and state guests drive through. These
demands are now fulfilled by a high-speed door made in Germany.
The Great Hall of People is considered one of the most symbolic and
monumental structures in Peking, the neo-classic structure was built in just ten
months back in 1958 and is located on the west side of the famous Tiananmen
Square. The building is used by the Chinese government as a reception for state
guests and as a venue for national celebrations.
All the more important that all the entrances to the building can be completely
secured. This is an opportunity that the Chinese sales partner of EFAFLEX used
to fit an EFA-SST®-L Premium door on the entrance to the south-west
underground garage in October 2013. The rapid opening and closing speeds of
this door make it possible to keep the entrance to the underground garage open
for minimal periods of time, ensuring unauthorised people cannot gain access to
the building.
This has provided DOUBLE STAR with a real coup in terms of references in
China. Being the supplier to such an important state building brings the highest
recognition in the country for EFAFLEX and, especially for Mr. Wang Zhongming,
the owner of the Chinese sales and service partner who specialise in parking
systems.

The Great Hall of People in Peking has been depicted on bank notes since the
third Chinese currency series. In the current fifth series, it appears in red on the
highest denomination note, the 100 yuan note. Perhaps the EFA-SST®-L
Premium might even make it onto a Chinese note in the future, who knows?
