Playschool
The Nursery School
at Badingham Village Hall
Low Street
Badingham
Also home of
childcare for under 2’s
Badingham playschool was opened in 1972 and
provides quality, affordable childcare for
local children. We have high quality
equipment and resources that encourage
creativity through craft, music and dance
and develop basic literacy and numeracy. Our
staff have qualifications and experience to
build strong relationships with the children
and we have a high staff to child ratio to
give each child the care and attention they
need.
We believe that each child is an individual
and will grow and develop at their own pace.
Children learn through the opportunities to
play provided by our carefully planned
curriculum. They gain knowledge, skills and
understanding through fun and exciting
experiences in a safe environment. We feel
it is important for young children to interact
well with adults and other children, to
communicate and express themselves
confidently. We hold the ‘Every Child A
Talker Standard’ which is a Quality Award
held by a few settings in Suffolk.
We aim to work in partnership with parents to
provide the best for each child.
Children aged 2-5 years may attend playschool
with free sessions available for over 3’s and
eligible 2’s. Under 2’s register in our ‘Little
Fishes’ baby room.
Parents are welcome to stay as long as they
wish and share activities. We will respect and
value your ideas and views. It is important for
your child to see you relaxed in the setting to
build their sense of security.
Playschool is normally open during state school
term times on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
We open at 9:15am and close at 3.30pm (8.30am
to 4pm by arrangement) and offer flexible
sessions within this time.
Music, creative dance and water confidence
sessions are included in our session fees.
Each child’s needs are met during the day
through free-play, snack time, adult led
activities, lunch-time, quiet times and
outdoor play. Routine is important to help
the children understand time and build
familiarity, security and stability however we
always remain flexible to take opportunities
for unplanned activities e.g. looking at a
rainbow, exploring in the snow or walking the
village footpaths on sunny afternoons.
Children exercise freedom of choice about
activities they do to encourage their
independence in preparation for the future.
Badingham Playschool has held the Suffolk
Quality Assured award for two years, it has
the bronze Eco-schools award and was given
the Gold Pledge to recycle award by Suffolk
County Council.
