Overall Purpose of the Job:
To work as part of a class team to provide support for children and young people with
Additional Support Needs
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1.
Support teaching staff in meeting the needs of pupils.
2.
Promote pupil independence in all areas of development.
3.
Support pupil access to all areas of the curriculum.
4.
Assist with all aspects of personal care needs (may include toileting and
administration of medication)
5.
Support social development and peer interaction.
6.
Support and supervise pupils outwith the classroom (playground, dining hall,
school trips etc.)
7.
Liaise with parents and school visiting staff as appropriate.
8.
Undertake appropriate development and training as required for the post.
9.
Assist with classroom organisation and administration to support learning and
teaching activities.
10.
Any other duties and responsibilities as directed by line management.
