MTB Dirt Crit Results Wednesday 5th November
The third round of crits happened Wednesday night with some of the closest and
best racing of the series. We had some new faces turn up which was great to see
and we hope to see even more next week.
The track was slightly more challenging than the previous weeks but all riders rose to
the task and by the end of the race took it in their stride. The handicaps had been
mulled over and reworked and we were confident it was going to be a close race.
With nearly 3 minutes separating the first from last rider and number of laps ranging
from 8 to 15, everyone was on their own mission and hungry to win.
While some riders took a few laps to really start kicking into gear, it appeared a few
were having some trouble with the tricky U-turn corner judging by the calls of
laughter.
Then the first mechanical, Helens handlebars were loose, and then Ben tussled with
the U-turn and came off second best with a saddle that was pointing the wrong way.
A few laps later and Rosey was trying to go past Helen only to find there wasn’t any
room… more yells (hopefully of laughter) and riders biting the dust.
Whilst all the adults were dealing with their issues, young Toby couldn’t let his little
brother Sam beat him again and he was trying to stop as little as often to get through
to the finish line first. Sam took an awesome win.
Mr. Consistent Jerry came in 2nd, with a sprint to the line for 3rd between Jamie and
Will which Jamie just won with Mick only just behind in 5th. Overall the racing was a
lot closer.
Next week is our final week and would love to have our highest number of riders for
