Camp Notes

Well the Wild Game Dinner Committee can put
another “Great Event” in the history book.
What started out as just another “General Meeting” on Wednesday night has turned into one of
BGH’s “Premier Events”, with 400 in attendance. An Event that now attracts BGH members and a large number of “Friends of BGH
Club” to an evening many plan for all year. The
Dinner has outgrown several different locations over the years.
There are a number of special people still on the Committee after all these years. Rich Meyer
Chaired the Committee for 19 years. Donna Howard, an Honorary Member, has emceed for 18
years. Charles Mateker has catered the meals for more than 10 years. We owe the many members
and volunteers on the WGD Committee a round of applause and our gratitude. This Committee
runs like a well-oiled and maintained machine. Everyone knows their job and does it. It’s one of
the best Committees I’ve had the pleasure to serve on. THANKS GANG, you did it again!
To look at the bounty we had to choose from would have made Henry the VIII or the Pilgrims
mouths water with envy. The generosity of our members and their friends provide Charlie with
the raw (pun intended) material to make our Gourmet Banquet Table possible. We can’t say
thanks too many times!

James E. Mraz
I’d like to see BGH take a larger part in sharing our bounty with others by sharing our game and
Sport with others. I’d like to see BGH more involved again with Share the Harvest, Feed My
People and Education. There are many who don’t know the great job Share the Harvest and
Feed My People do. Feed My People receives a lot of food from stores, markets, bakeries and
organizations but the one thing they don’t get is enough red meat. There’s also the need to
transport the packages from processor to Feed My People. It’s a 30 to 40 mile round trip to visit
all the processors and Feed My People. If you are interest in taking part in Share the Harvest
and/or Feed My People, contact me at [email protected] or my cell phone, 314-591-9193.
Eric Reinhard
So many ways we can help. Enjoy our sport, share, transport and educate.

Boone and Crockett Coming to Missouri
Mark your Calendars
St. Louis and Missouri may have lost the Rams, but some big things are coming to Missouri
in 2016. The Boone and Crockett Club will be holding their 29th Awards Program in Springfield, Mo July 13-16, 2016. The weekends activities will culminate with the 29th Awards Program and Banquet that is truly one-of-a-kind event recognizing the accomplishments of 100+
hunters who have harvested some of the finest trophies ever recorded by B&C.
The 29th Awards Program trophy display will be held at the new Americas Wildlife Museum
and Aquarium next to the flagship Bass Pro Shops store in Springfield, Mo. This is a worldclass wildlife museum and aquarium that is solely dedicated to the American hunter and angler, and their role in successful conservation. Nothing is a better expression of the success of conservation than the B&C Awards
Program trophy display and events. The museum will also be the “NEW PERMANATE HOME” of the Club’s historic National
Collection of Heads and Horns, which was recently relocated from the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody, Wy.
The weekend will also provide an opportunity to visit the recently opened NRA Gun
museum at the same location. Several other conservation organizations will also have
mounts on display and a representative present.
