Position & Description
The Automotive Detailing Team supports CityLink’s vision and mission by preparing cars that have been
donated to the Changing Gears program for CityLink Center clients to purchase. Under the supervision
of a Service Manager, the Detailing Team assists with detailing, cleaning, and maintaining vehicles.
Having safe and reliable private transportation allows clients better access to the resources that help
them achieve self-sufficiency. The Detailing Team plays a crucial part in preparing cars to be beautiful
blessings for our clients, as a way to gain transportation more affordably than anywhere else in the city.
*Volunteers of all experience levels are welcomed and needed.
Responsibilities
1. Clean &/or detail (wash, vacuum, wax, etc.) vehicles under supervision of a certified professional
2. Perform basic vehicle maintenance under the instruction of a Team Leader
3. Vehicle and garage clean-up
Position Qualifications
Automotive Team
1. Any level of automotive experience
2. Be willing to learn
3. Ability to work in a team or individual
environment
Team Leader
1. Experience teaching and/or coaching
2. Committed to excellence and safety
3. Organized and knowledgeable of
ChangingGears methods
4. Team leader designated by President
and/or Shop Manager
Time Commitment
4 hours a month or more with serving opportunities on:
1. Thursday (6:30-8:45pm)

Position & Description
The Automotive Repair Team promotes CityLink’s vision and mission by repairing and maintaining cars
that have been donated to the Changing Gears program, under the supervision of a Service Manager.
The Repair Team is essential in preparing donated vehicles for CityLink Center clients to purchase.
It can be extremely challenging to live day-to-day without a car, relying on other people or public
transport to get around. The Automotive Repair Team is involved repairing cars that are sold to clients
who would otherwise be incapable of obtaining affordable private transportation. As a volunteer you will
help break down barriers and provide safe, reliable, and affordable means of transportation.

Automotive Technician Assistant Team

Position & Description
The Technician Assistant Team promotes CityLink’s vision and mission in preparing vehicles donated to
the Changing Gears Program for eligible CityLink clients to purchase. The Technician Assistant Team
assists the Service Manager in repairing and maintaining donated vehicles, keeping the Changing Gears
facility fully functional.
Building into the mission of moving clients to self-sufficiency occurs on many levels. Assisting in the
repairs and maintenance of donated cars is a tactile way of investing the work of your hands in the lives
of our clients. Everyone is valued in the contribution to moving our clients toward brighter, self-sufficient
futures!
