Ad Set Preparations Ad Set Preparations 5 Preparing for Ad Set There are many things to do to make sure Ad Set goes smoothly. The price tag scanners need to be checked, making sure the tag printer is working correctly and loaded with tags, and that the store has all of the product shippers ready to be put on the floor. Ad Set Preparations 7 Telxon Checks and Log-In Telxons are the gun-shaped scanners that we use for many operations in our stores. The operation we will be using for Ad Set will be price checking. They can be temperamental, so you need to be patient with them. This is why we check them before using them during Ad Set. Ad Set Preparations 9 Logging into the Telxon First, you will put in a newly charged battery into the Telxon, and then turn it on. It usually takes a minute to get to the Log-In screen. Log in using your employee number and password Click Ad Set Operations Click Price Audit Check to see if the scanner is working (red laser is turning on when pressing the trigger) If you are having trouble with the Telxon, you should ask your manager for some help, or simply turn it off to reset it. After that, you just repeat the previous steps. Ad Set Preparations 11 Printer System and Product Shippers This part is simple as well. The printer used for printing the price tags is found in the store’s warehouse. The printing system is linked up to the system the telxon uses. Every price tag that changes is sent to the printer. The printer has five slots for the different tags that will be printed. There are only two things to check: Look for error codes Reset printer if error codes appear Load the correct tags in there slots for printing Product shippers are found near the printer in the warehouse. They come with their own instructions for putting it together, and they also come with products to be sold. You just follow the instructions, and place the shipper in the location in the store that is specified in the instructions. Ad Set Preparations 13 Now, you are ready to begin Ad Set. Your team members and you should decide on what areas of the store each of will scan. The next section of this manual will go over the scanning and tag replacing process. Ad Set Procedures Ad Set Procedures Procedure for Ad Set Ad Set needs to be accurately worked to ensure that the store does not lose money due to mispriced tags. You need to make sure to scan every tag, and replace all incorrectly priced tags. Also, the shippers and ad promotions need to be put out according to their instructions. 17 Ad Set Procedures 19 Scanning and Replacing Tags There is a simple way that we use to scan tags, so that replacing them afterward is quick. Scan from left to right Scan in four ft. sections Scan from top to bottom Turn all mispriced tags Dispose of the old tags All employees doing ad set scan this way. It makes it easier for each of you to help complete your sections before the store opens. Turning the tags helps each other know which tags need to be replaced. Ad Set Procedures 21 Ad Promotions and Product Shippers The managers will print out the instructions for placements of ad promotions and product shippers. You follow these steps: Read instructions for the ad promos and shippers Take down old promos and shippers Put up the new shippers and promos in the sections according to their instructions. Make sure to clean up any mess from building the shippers Ending Ad Set Ending Ad Set 25 Clean-up and Section Check This section is just to make sure that Ad Set was done correctly.
