FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 30, 2013 Contact: Jennifer Norris Saienni ‘05 (302) 658-7158 [email protected] DREAMBOX CEO AND URSULINE ALUMNA RETURNS TO URSULINE ACADEMY Wilmington, Del. – Jessie Woolley-Wilson ‘81, President, CEO, and Board Chair of DreamBox Learning, returned to Ursuline Academy to discuss her company. During her homecoming, Ms. Woolley-Wilson met with Lower School teachers and learned how they have integrated DreamBox into their math curricula. Ms. Woolley-Wilson also had the opportunity to speak with the Middle and Upper School students about her career path. DreamBox Learning is an intelligent adaptive learning program that allows students, teachers, and parents to track a student’s progress in math through interactive games, which determine the ability and progress of each individual student. “DreamBox is building competency in students’ math ability but more importantly building a student’s confidence in math,” said Ms. Woolley-Wilson. She has also seen a significant change in the dialogue between parents and students about math, which Ms. Woolley-Wilson believes to be an important factor in a student’s success. While speaking to the Middle and Upper School students, Ms. Woolley-Wilson advised her Ursuline Sisters to not only surround themselves with positive and influential people but to not be afraid to take risks. And finally, Ms. Woolley-Wilson suggests creating options and avenues to continuously improve your career such as learning how to write and read programming code. We are in a technology infused age and to remain cutting edge, we will all have to stay ahead of the curve.
