Queen Elizabeth II is the 38th monarch of
England. Her family goes back more than 1,000
years! It’s easy to forgot all the kings and queens
of England. We want to show you some more
famous than others.
Six wives
Henry really wanted to have a
son to be king after him so he
married a lot of times.
Unfortunately he had only one
son which died when he had
15 years. He had also two
daughters, Mary and Elizabeth.
Religion
Henry changed England’s religion from Catholic
to Protestant because he want to divorce with
his first wife. He became the head of England’s
new religion. When he divorced with his wife he
kept money insted gave it to the Pope.
Interests
Henry was a clever man and he was in love with
books and music. He was good looking, tall and
strong man, he played many sports. He really
loved food. Later in life he became very fat and
ill. He died at the age of 56.
Golden Age
Elizabeth I was one of Henry
VIII’s daughter. She was one of
the strongest monarchs ever.
In her state goverance
England became much richer
and stronger in the world. It
was also wonderful time for
English music and drama.
Elizabethan Fashion
Elizabeth I is famous for her
beautiful clothes and big
dresses. She started put white
make-up on her face. Other
women and some men copied
her.
Empire
Queen Victoria was queen for
64 years – the longest time
for a British monarch. During
that time, Britain became a
very important and rich
country. This country had a
very big empire and Victoria
ruled over 25% of the people
in the world.
Family
Victoria’s marriage to Albert was a real love
story! His dead made her very sad. She wore
black clothes for the rest of her life. They had
nine children and thirty-seven greatgrandchildren. Many of the royal families in
Europe today have links to Victoria- the
’grandmother of Europe’.
