Philosophical Journal of Conflict and Violence
PJCV - Second Issue
The Philosophical Journal of Conflict and Violence (PJCV) welcomes contributions from young
researchers and established academics concerning the philosophical issues raised by violent crimes.
The selected articles will be published open access by Trivent Publishing at the beginning of
December 2017.
We welcome papers from philosophical research fields on the following topics:
• Classic and modern philosophical accounts (Plato, Aquinas, Hobbes, Beccaria,
Bentham, Kant, Hegel, Foucault etc.) on crime and legal punishment.
• Reflections on the philosophical foundations of modern criminology or
on the epistemological issues of contemporary crime studies.
• Ethical studies on criminal responsibility and psychopathy.
• Philosophical studies on extreme crimes (terrorism, genocides, serial murder etc.).
• The PJCV also welcomes novel papers on crime and René Girard’s mimetic theory.
