As peer educators, HEROH provides campus-wide health promotion campaigns designed to prevent health problems by educating and encouraging healthy lifestyles. OBJECTIVES To provide health related educational programs to SDSU students through classroom and residential hall presentations. To provide prevention education and awareness activities to SDSU students to create a healthier campus. To give HEROH members experience in developing and presenting health education programs. To give HEROH members the training and experiences needed to gain leadership skills. HEROH members hold to the following principles: We are committed to our personal wellness and engage in activities that keep us healthy We show our esteem for students by effectively offering well prepared information We strive to create a meaningful experience for all participants We are members of a team that can rely on each other We are willing to work towards having positive and healthy relationships with each other We understand our message content and present information in a conversational tone TIME COMMITMENT Minimum of 1 hour per week includes an hour in the HEROH office performing office duties or attendance at planned events in a school year. *Needed in order to include HEROH on resume. New members receive their training by observing presentations conducted by more experienced peer educators.
