Show the students a basketball. Ask them if they have
ever played the game. Did they like it? Today we will read
about a girl and a special present she received. Let’s read
and find out what she did with it.

Show the students previously made cards with the words:
BASKETBALL, FOOTBALL, GOLF, SWIMMING, SOCCER,
TENNIS. Show the students the cards and ask them which
are team sports and individual sports. Tell them that today
we will read about a team sport. Let’s read and find out
which one.
