INSTRUCTIONS: In order to successfully complete this assignment, you will play tic-tac-toe.
You must accomplish three in a row in order to have a completed assignment grade.
That means you need to pick any three assignments – they must be in a row -- either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
(Example: You could pick 1, 5, and 9, but you could not pick 2, 4, and 8.)

1. FAMOUS PEOPLE IN ASIA
Select a famous person to learn about that is from

song to learn about that is from somewhere in Asia.
(The music or instrument could be modern or from
the past.)

from and where do people listen to/play it? How
does/did this music/instrument contribute to
culture?”
Incorporate a video or image or series of images
that help to demonstrate information about the

Construct a model of a place or an object that is located in
an Asian country. (You may use technology to create a 2D model, or construct a 3-D model from materials you find
around the house.) It could be a building or anything that
would be an example of Asian culture like a bridge or a statue,
etc.
Create labels that explain what your model is. Make sure to
give information about what it is, where it is, and why it is
important to Asian culture.
Create a typed works cited in correct MLA format to your
teacher showing the sources you got your information from.

recipe so we know it is from a reliable source.
Find out why people in this country eat this particular dish or
why they might use these ingredients- think about geography
and climate for this one and use Culturegrams to help you.
Cook the dish at your house or try it at a restaurant.
Write a 3 paragraph explanation that includes the information
about the country, the recipe, the ingredients, and the cultural
and geographical connections. Also include your impression
of the dish and whether or not you would recommend it to a
friend.
You can either type and print or type and email your writing
to your teacher. You must also include a typed works cited in
MLA format.
