THE PLAY AT THE CORE PROGRAM In 2012, Right To Play was invited to apply its learning model to tackle the growing educational opportunity gap in New York City. Right To Play’s New York City-based program, Play at the Core, is a comprehensive training and coaching program designed to support early childhood educators and enhance the teaching quality in Early Childhood Education centers in the city’s most vulnerable communities. Play at the Core develops the abilities of early childhood educators to plan and execute intentional play programming, as well as builds their capacity to engage child-initiated play. Play at the Core’s trainings aim to strengthen both facilitation skills and creative capacity for maximized engagement. In four years, Play at the Core has worked with more than 570 educators across 59 Early Childhood Education centers, reaching over 4,700 children in New York City’s most under-resourced communities in the Bronx, Harlem, Washington Heights and Brooklyn. THE RIGHT TO PLAY CHAMPIONS NETWORK OF YOUNG PROFESSIONALS The Right To Play Champions Network of Young Professionals (CNYP) is a dedicated team of active business and community professionals who support Right To Play’s mission and growth. These young professionals serve as ambassadors of Right To Play, are advocates of sport for peace and development, and work to enhance the visibility and awareness of Right To Play, promoting the organization to a new and growing audience of supporters and donors.
