Energy optimisation in cluster based wireless Ad-Hoc networks Project guide Asst.Prof(Sr) T.Shankar I.V.L Raghavendra (08BEC134) Aim of the project Energy efficiency continues to be the key factor in limiting the deployability of Ad-Hoc networks. The aim of the project is to propose an algorithm such that overall energy of the Ad-Hoc network is being optimised and thereby increasing the lifetime of the network. AD-HOC NETWORK An Ad-Hoc network is a self configuring infrastructure-less network where nodes, connected by wireless links can move freely and thus topology of the network changes consistently. CLUSTERING OF AD-HOC NETWORKS Sensor networks Clusterbased system Base sations *Cluster head* Energy optimisation Effective sel. of cluster head ANDA,LID LEACH,LEAD, PEGASIS Effevtive routing protocol DSDV, TORA,DSR, AODV LEAD Algorithm Dynamic selection of cluster heads among the set of nodes , allocation of rest of the ordinary nodes to cluster heads. Selection and allocation is done according to the current status of the network. Maximising the avg life time of the network is the objective of this algorithm . WHY LEAD? From the literature survey, it has been drawn that * Life time of the network vs no.of nodes , LEAD outperforms ANDA,LID by 35% * Cluster head selection is according to the current residual energy .So, energy is equally drained in the network METHODOLOGY Analyzing various routing protocols Simulation of LEAD Developing the proposed algorithm Comparing the results PROJECT SCHEDULE dec jan Feb & march • Literature survey • Implementing LEAD algorithm • Implementing the proposed algorithm and comparing with the existing. • Report preparation & presentation April Thank you
