The Head Coach role provides lead coaching duties to the Bay View Saints (BVS), Bay View Saints Masters and also supports St Hilda’s IGSSA swim squads. We are seeking a qualified, motivated and enthusiastic Head Swim Coach to lead our coaching teams. The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator with both students and families, have will developed coaching skills and be dedicated to supporting swimmers achieve their goals. BAY VIEW SAINTS Bay View Saints Swimming Club caters for all swimmers ranging from development squads to National team representatives. The club aims to create a positive, supportive and inclusive environment in which each swimmer can pursue excellence in competitive swimming to the best of their ability. Responsible to:  Business Manager Hours  Approximately 30 hours per week Key Responsibilities and Duties:  Plan all session for the Senior Squad of the BVS, liaising with the Pool Manager when you are unable to attend any sessions at least 2 weeks in advance  Conduct weekly meetings with coaching team, set aims and targets  Ensure coaching team member sessions are effective and appropriate  Share your knowledge of planning and sessions with the other coaches  Carry out swimmer assessments every three months and send results to parents  Assist in the creation of the BVS term training schedules for each squad  Assist with the assigning of coaches to each squad every term  Assist with the organising and running of club nights/meets and liaise with the Pool Manager in relation to these events and their requirements  Assist with the organising of club functions  Ensure parents are kept up to date on what the Bay View Saints are doing and pass on any relevant information about up‐coming events and the promotion of these events  Assist with the selection and organisation of relay teams and explain the outcomes of these selections to parents  Assist with the selection of premiership teams  Liaise with the Pool Manager, Receptionist and Swim School Coordinator on the Bay View Saints squad extra‐curricular fitness program and when the pool is unavailable due to school commitments Updated February 16 LS/lt Staff 2016/Head Swimming Coach/Duty Statement 04/02/16 

Substitute for other coaches on their squad training as and when needed Help to build the Bay View Saints Club to be successful by helping as many swimmers as possible over all squads to achieve national times Provide written summaries for each newsletter on things that have happened and swimmers successes Be a valuable team member of the Bay View Saints and always try to promote the Club Be approachable/inviting for all swimmers from the Swim School to Bay View Saints Liaise with the St Hilda’s Physical Education staff about the use of the fitness centre each term and holiday periods Plan all fitness centre sessions/programs for the Senior Squad Set goals with the Senior Squad members Make seasonal plans Attend all targeted meets Attend Committee meetings and report on BVS coaching Provide coaching support to BVS Masters as requested Any other duties as required by the Pool Manager, Business Manager or Committee 






