There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner for the longest, second longest and third longest fish in the tournament under the basic entry fee. No moneys will be awarded under the basic entry fee. Prizes will be as follows: • 1st place prize – One week stay in the Florida Keys. including airfare for two. • 2nd place prize – One week stay in Ocean City, MD. • 3rd place prize – Engel cooler with loads of goodies! Additional Calcuttas: Calcutta A • Longest single fish by individual male angler. $20.00 per angler in addition to basic entry. Longest fish in inches measured to the nearest quarter on an inch (1/4”). One winner takes 50% of the total purse. Calcutta B • Longest single fish by individual female angler. $20.00 per angler in addition to basic entry. Longest fish in inches measured to the nearest quarter on an inch (1/4”). One winner takes 50% of the total purse. Calcutta C • Stringer by individual angler (up to 5 fish). $20.00 per angler in addition to basic entry. The total length of up to five fish measured in inches to the nearest quarter of an inch (1/4”). One winner takes 50% of the total purse. Calcutta D • Team Stringer (up to 5 fish caught by multiple anglers pre-registered as a team). $10.00 per angler in addition to basic entry. The total length of up to five fish measured in inches to the nearest quarter of an inch (1/4”). One team takes 50% of the total purse. 2 Rules and Regulations The headquarters and official check-in station for this tournament will be Little Havana located at 1325 Key Highway Baltimore, Md. 21230, 410-837-9903. This is a catch-and-release-only tournament. All fish must be released alive and unharmed into the waters from which it was caught. No fish may be brought to Little Havana for measuring. Anglers must be present at the tournament party to win any awards and/or money prizes. The honor system, honesty and generally accepted ethics and sportsmanship practices are required of all participants. Judges may disqualify any individual or team believed to be in violation of any rules or regulation at any time. Judges reserve the right to interview members of your crew and any other potential witnesses regarding the live release of any fish for consideration in the tournament. The Anglers’ Meeting will be held on October 9, 2015. All anglers participating in the tournament must attend the anglers’ meeting. You will receive your tournament packet at the Anglers’ Meeting, containing your official release ruler, release card, and official rules and regulations. If an angler cannot attend the Anglers’ Meeting, the angler must make arrangements with tournament officials and an approved proxy may pick up the absent anglers’ tournament packet. It is then up to said angler to get his/her tournament packet from his/her proxy. This tournament is restricted to the tidal waters of Maryland only. Fish must be caught in accordance with all Maryland laws, rules and regulations. All-tackle I.G.F.A. rules apply. All participants fishing in this tournament are responsible for have their own Maryland State issued fishing license. In addition all entries must be of legal keeper size to be submitted and all fish being entered must be released alive and unharmed. The use of rubber landing nets is suggested. No angler may begin fishing on tournament day (10.10.15) before 5:00 am. Anglers may use any legal method to catch fish considered for entry (i.e., light tackle jigging, lure, fly, live lining, bait, trolling…etc.) Anglers may fish from a boat, a kayak, pier or shoreline. 3 Any angler using bait (live or dead) must use a non-offset circle hook. All fish should be hooked and fought by the registered angler only. All-tackle I.G.F.A. rules apply. Once the fish is boat-side any person other then the angler may assist in boating the fish for measuring. Any person other then the angler fighting the fish may not touch the angler, rod, reel or mainline at anytime during the fight. Any person may touch the leader and the fish to aid in boating the fish. All fish should be fought, landed, measured & photographed then released as quickly as possible into the waters from which it was caught. The use of rubber landing nets is suggested. Anglers should have their photographic recording device ready. Once an angler has boated a fish, they must photograph the fish on the official tournament ruler supplied at the Anglers’ Meeting. Fish photographed on any ruler other then the official tournament ruler will be disqualified. The hook/lure must be in the photograph, preferably (but not required) in the fish’s mouth, to qualify. The entire fish needs to be in the photograph with the nose and pinched tail clearly visible on the official ruler. Fish will be measured to the nearest quarter of an inch (1/4”). In the event that there are two fish of the same length, the fish with the earliest time recorded on the release card will place above all other fish of the same size. Officials at check-in will determine tiebreakers. Any and all decisions will be made by the tournament judges and will be final. Each entry must contain a minimum of one unaltered, original photograph in printed or digital form (i.e. cell phone or camera) of the fish and completely filled out release card. For anglers fishing in Calcuttas C and D you must have individual one release cards for each angler on your team. Any missing information from the release card will result in disqualification. Photographs that do not clearly show the length of the fish will result in disqualification. Altered photographs will result in disqualification. No exceptions. Anglers may use digital cameras or cell phones to record their catch. Digital photographs can be emailed to [email protected]. You may email your photograph at any point during the tournament, however, digital photographs, along with a completely filled out release card must be provided to check-in judges at the time of entry submission. In the event that there are two fish of the same length, the first fish caught will place above all other fish of the same size. 4 Example of a properly filled out release card: Entries may be checked in on October 10, 2015 only from 2:00 pm to 4:00pm at tournament headquarters, Little Havana. No entries will be accepted before 2:00 pm or after 4:00 pm on the day of the tournament under any circumstances. Anglers must be present at the tournament party to win any awards and/or money prizes. Participants should be aware of any and all risks due to inclement weather and unsafe fishing or boating conditions. There is no weather committee for this tournament and all participants enter and fish at their own risk. The sponsors and CCA Maryland take no responsibility for any loss, injury or damage to an individual’s property or person. 5
