Home Run for Trees

Home Run for Trees
On January 20, 2010, the remaining 31 trees for the Home Run for Trees program for the 2009 season, which
represented the home run hits by Astros in the months of August and September, were planted at Sylvan
Rodriguez Park in Clear Lake. HLS had the pleasure of working with many volunteers from the Astros front
office, Houston Astros players and announcers, Keep Houston Beautiful, Christison Landscape, Tree Town
USA, Houston Parks and Recreation Department and NASA. A total of 80 trees were planted in parks around
Houston for the 2009 season.
Astros players Geoff Blum, Roy Oswalt and newcomer Pedro Feliz were joined by Astros radio announcers
Brett Dolan and Dave Raymond and NASA astronauts Charles Hobaugh and Mike Foreman. After the trees
were planted, Mike Foreman presented Roy Oswalt with a jersey that was taken to space aboard shuttle Atlantis
in November 2009.
HLS is proud to contribute to the Astros Play Green campaign and looks forward to the 2010 season.
