Our story this fortnight is called ‘The Naughty Bus’.
 Tell your family (and friends) about the story. Tell them about: the
characters, the setting, how the story starts, problems and solutions
in the story, and how the story ends.
 Also, talk about your favourite part of the story.
 You can also watch a similar version of the story online by typing
in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqQ1BAEj1oE
On the front and side of the ‘Naughty Bus’, there are signs which tell us the number of
the bus and where it is going.
 When you are out and about, look at the writing on
different vehicles - what do you notice?
 Look at the number plates too. Talk about the letters.
Do you know what sounds they make? Can you name
the letters? Perhaps you could make a number plate of
your own and attach it to a wheeled toy.
In the story, the ‘Naughty Bus’ goes on an adventure.
 Take one of your toys on an adventure.
 Think about:
1. Where your toy’s adventure will start.
2. A problem your toy will have along the way.
3. How the problem will be solved.
4. And how your toy’s adventure will end.
 You could take photographs to illustrate each part of your
toy’s adventure story AND/OR tell your story to
someone in your family, so that they can write it down for
you.
 Can you draw a map showing where your toy went? Reception children, can you use
your letters and sounds to label your map? Remember to sound talk the word you want
to write.
 Have you or someone in your family ever used a map? If so, where did they go? Have
you seen any maps when you’ve been out and about with your family? Could you use
any electric devises to look at maps such as a SatNav, phone or Google maps?
