ECB ACO SCORERS LEVEL 1 COURSE – FEBRUARY & MARCH 2013
Dear Club,
Following on from the successful courses run over the past two years, the Wiltshire
Association of Cricket Officials (WACO) are running an ECB ACO Level 1 Scoring course in
2013.
The course is being held at Beversbrook Sports facility in Calne for six Sundays between
3rd February and 10th March 2013 running from 9am to 11.30am on each day. The
course tutors are Sally Pitman and Michelle Young who are both qualified ECB ACO
instructors. On the completion of the course, candidates will receive a formal ECB
scorers qualification.
The Level 1 course is the foundation of the entire scorers education programme,
essential to give correct footings for any scorer as they pass through their career.
Areas covered on the course will be:
 Role and responsibilities of a scorer
 Understanding a scoring record – 10 key areas
 Planning and preparation for a match
 Relevant Laws of Cricket
 Umpire signals
 Scoring symbols
 Practical exercises – ball by ball scoring and balancing the scoring record
 Types of matches
 Scorers equipment
 Pre-match, match and post-match rituals
The course cost is now £80, included in this cost (nb – Rebates will be available for this
course on completion – see below):
 The course including assessment
 Folder, workbook, handouts and all paperwork for the course
 Scorers bag, Law book and ECB directives
 Copy of Tom Smith’s Umpiring and Scoring
Please note that we will only accept applications if they are received with full payment.
Cheques must be payable to “Wiltshire Cricket Limited”.
Course Fee Rebates
Please note that all Wiltshire clubs are able to claim a refund of £40 through either
WEPL or the Surridge Wiltshire County Cricket League. Therefore while the initial outlay
for the course is £80, the net cost is only £40.
To receive your course fee rebate, clubs will be contacted by the league(s) at the end of
the winter and advised to make a claim through their respective leagues on the
completion of the course.
