2016 Scholarship Application for
Summer History Explorers Camp
The Williamson Museum, Georgetown, TX
Each summer, The Williamson Museum provides a week-long
education camp, themed to a specific era or subject matter. The theme
for summer 2016 is Political Superheros! Have you ever wanted to
be President? Take a step back into our time machine to be a political
superhero and experience 100 years of life on the campaign trail. Will
the invention of new technology like trains, cars, or TV hurt or help
your political career? Experience the food, fun, and popular culture of
five different important election time periods in American history. Join
us for fun, hands-on activities at this week-long camp for students
entering 3rd-6th Grades! Scholarships are available for first time
campers. Camp is 9:00am – 3:00pm. Cost: $125 per week or $25 per
day for non-museum members; $100 per week or $20 per day for
museum members. Dates: July 18th – 22nd or July 25th – 29th.

The Williamson Museum is accepting applications for first time
campers to attend camp on a full SHEC Scholarship.
Applicants must:
1. Be entering grades 3rd – 6th in the fall of the 2016 school year.
2. Submit an essay response to the prompt below, by the deadline
of Saturday July 9, 2016. Essay may be mailed to The
Williamson Museum 716 S. Austin Ave. Georgetown, TX 78626
or emailed to [email protected]
Essays will be screened by The Williamson Museum staff. Recipients’
will be contacted by the museum Educator, Danelle Houck via phone
call by Tuesday, July 12, 2016.
