Dear Fourth Grade Parents and Students, Welcome to the EDUPRIZE 2017-2018 school year. I am looking forward to seeing the children after our summer break and getting the Fourth Grade Regular Day year started. I will be your teacher during this exciting adventure and learning experience. My name is Autumn Larson and I have lived in Queen Creek for 15 years. This is my sixth year teaching in the classroom and my 11th year working with the EDUPRIZE staff and students. I am a mother of three and my oldest has attended our school since they opened. I am a hands-on learner and I enjoy student directed and led activities. I love spending time with my family and I enjoy reading, arts and crafts, science, and spending time outdoors. Children thrive and succeed within classrooms that meet their physical and developmental needs, and provide opportunities for positive academic experiences. Therefore, throughout the first week of school we will be practicing and reviewing the classroom routines and procedures that help us promote a secure, respectful, and nurturing school environment. I am especially excited and honored to have the opportunity to once again uphold this type of learning environment for your child and to guide them through another academic journey. We will be learning new skills in reading, writing, and math. This year the students will also be studying the following cottages for science and social studies: Arizona Highways, Conservation Plantation, Reptile Ranch, and Grand Canyon Marketplace. The first day of school is Wednesday, July 26th. All students must be present and on time the first day of school to be considered enrolled at EDUPRIZE. Our school day begins at 8:00 a.m. and will end at 3:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and 8:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. on Fridays. Students will be picked up each morning at 7:55 a.m. to ensure that we are ready to begin learning each day by 8:00 a.m. I would also like to invite you to attend our Fourth Grade Open House to meet the teacher, see our new classroom, and familiarize yourself with this new upcoming adventure. The date will be Monday, July 24th from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. We will meet in the classroom where you will have the opportunity to meet me, take a classroom tour, and find out where to line up on the first day of school. You will also be able to pick up important papers, including carpool and dismissal information. I would like you to please bring your open house paperwork, your school supplies, and your payment for Scholastic News $6 and your planner $6 ($12 total) to the Open House. I will have boxes for you to place certain items and the rest will go in the student’s desk. I will also be available throughout the day to answer questions or meet if needed. Parents and volunteers are always welcome in our classroom, please feel free to call the office or email me at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns, or if you wish to visit and help inside our classroom. Sincerely, Mrs. Autumn Larson EDUPRIZE 4th Grade Mrs. Larson’s Suggested Supply List 2017-2018 School Year PLEASE PRINT the Open House Forms and bring the completed forms to open house.
