JUNIOR BOARD LIAISON/SENIOR BOARD of DIRECTOR
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary: The Junior Board Liaison/Senior Board of Directors is responsible for the
control and management of the affairs, business and properties of WNC and has all of the rights
and privileges legally exercisable by WNC except as otherwise provided by law, by the Articles
of Incorporation, or by WNC’s Bylaws.
Qualifications:
 Expressed interest in non-profit work;
 Experience serving or working in other leadership/managerial positions preferred;
 Capability to attend regular meetings (see attendance expectations below);
 Commitment to contributing toward WNC’s business development/fundraising goals and
efforts;
 Support of the WNC Mission (see Mission Statement below)
Responsibilities:
 Govern the programs of the organization
 Assume fiduciary responsibility of the organization
 Plan future goals of the organization on the basis of the mission, objectives, and values
of the organization in accordance with the policies
 Hire and assure the performance of the Executive Director in accordance with the
strategic plan (future hire only);
 Attend monthly board meetings (generally held the second or third Wednesday of the
month from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.)
 Co-Chair Student Team, facilitate monthly committee meetings and submit written
monthly report to the full Board regarding the committee’s actions;
 Actively participate in at least one major WNC business development/fundraiser each
year
 Respond to WNC communications from the Executive Director and/or other Board
members/committee members within the requested time frame.
 Co-Host Club/Org Day the first two weeks of school
 Communicate regularly with students signed up to volunteer for WNC – Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram, text messaging, email, phone, etc.
 Participate in McDonalds Night Out, Papa Murphy’s Winning Wednesdays, Grandma
Gretel’s Gingerbread House, Culvers Scoopie Nights and any other events as
determined
 Organize a team to participate in annual Bowl-A-Thon
 Recruit at least 5 teams for the Horrible Holiday Sweater Shuffle
 Coordinate School Supply Program – pick up, bins, etc.
 Other projects as assigned by Board/Executive Director/WNC Operations Coordinator
 Work with clubs/organizations in schools to promote WNC mission/activities
 Act as WNC’s ambassador to all local schools
 Mentor and lead younger students on student team
WNC’s Mission Statement: WNC respects and cares for the community by connecting
partners and neighbors to provide resources and tools to those in need.

Co-Position/WNC Co-Position Board Member – Incoming Juniors ONLY
Waunakee Neighborhood Connection is now accepting applications for a co-position liaison on
the WNC Board to begin October 2015. This co-position is a unique opportunity to represent the
student voice within WNC. This co-position starts in October 2015, serving first as a board
liaison but then, in June 2016, the position becomes a co-position WNC Board Member.
To express your interest, please complete the following page and turn in to Waunakee High
School Counseling Office or email/scan to [email protected] no later than 9am on
Monday, October 26, 2015. All those who will be interviewed will be contacted by WNC on
Monday, October 26 by noon via text message.
All interviews will be conducted on Monday, October 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the
WNC Store on 208 S. Century Avenue. You must be available to interview then.
