How to Create Empowering Affirmations

How to Create Empowering
Affirmations
Living on Autopilot vs Setting a Powerful Intention
Living your life on total autopilot (without a clear intention or goals)
often results in aimless wandering with no true fulfillment. This is why
setting clear goals is so important. Difference Between Intention and Goals
Your intention is an energetic statement about you. Goals are specific,
measurable milestones that embody your intention “in real life.”
Example: When driving a car, a clear intention would be the exact
address of your “end point.” Your goals are like your directions, or how
you plan to get there. Affirmations & Actions
Set an inspiring intention - energetic vision statement of 1 to 2
sentences that elaborates on your WHY. 2. Create clear goals - specific, concrete, measurable milestones
that are aligned with your intention and allow you to step into your
new future. 3. Create positive, present tense affirmations – stay focused and
connected with your intention, so you
don’t lose sight of why you’re
doing this.
The Importance of Affirmations
Now... you may have some experience with creating affirmations, or
maybe this is something completely new for you.
To make sure you have a solid understanding of the true power of
affirmations, let’s start with the basics and we’ll move on to more
advanced information from there.
So, at their core, affirmations are positive statements that describe a specific
situation, habit or goal that you want to manifest in your life.
As you regularly repeat these affirmations, they act like auto- suggestions
that create a bridge between your conscious and your subconscious mind.
For now, it’s important that you understand that it’s largely your
subconscious mind that determines the results that you see around you.
It’s your subconscious mind that either supports you or sabotages you when
you set goals.
Your subconscious mind sets the stage for what results you will get as you
try to affect any kind of positive change in your life.
When you say your positive affirmations with concentrated focus, attention
and faith that you CAN and WILL achieve what you want, you automatically
create a mental image of yourself achieving that desire or goal in your mind.
When you get into the habit of repeating affirmations, the mental images
that match your affirmations get imprinted into your subconscious mind.
When created correctly, your affirmations...
 Energize  Motivate  Inspire
As you repeat your affirmations on a regular basis, these new positive happy
thoughts naturally push out negative thoughts and self-limiting beliefs.
This creates space for a happier, more empowered and inspired you...
You soon become more open and aware of opportunities you may have
missed before. Often we have opportunities all around us that we just
cannot see because of our current mental state.
In a relatively short amount of time, you will find your daily affirmations are
becoming your reality
Think of a particular time in your life where you felt on top of the
world...
...a time when you faced one of your fears and came out on the
other side victorious.
...a huge achievement where you thought, “If I can do this, I can
do anything!”
Imagine that moment when you put yourself out there, took a big risk and
felt the fear, but did it anyway – and it paid off!
Do you have that time in your mind?
 What was the situation?
 Where were you standing?
 What were you wearing?
 What was all around you?
 Who were you with?
Build a crystal clear picture of that event in your mind.
Can you see it?
What I want you to do now is really get in touch with how it felt to feel
unstoppable...
How does it feel to blast through your self-doubts and maybe even your
negative self-talk?
How does it feel to know that when you put your mind to it, you can
accomplish AMAZING things.
Do you remember how that felt?
Take a moment to sit with that feeling.
 
 You are capable of great things  
 You are unstoppable    You have the passion, the fire, and the energy to do
anything you really set your mind to Can you feel it? Sit with that feeling. Now, let’s do a check in. How are you feeling
now? Are you in your Happy Place? Excellent! Now it’s time to move
into our NLP State Change exercise. The first step to creating powerful affirmations is to pinpoint what it is that
you want to create in your life and attract to you.
This may sound super obvious, but the fact is, the reason that affirmations
don’t work for 99.9% of people is because they’ve infused them with what
they DON’T want...
A simple example of this the really common money affirmation “I am 100%
debt free.”
In this case, you are resonating the word “debt” and the energetic vibration
that goes with it, and so you may find yourself entangled in more and more
debt!
Definitely NOT the outcome that you were hoping for, right?
Cardinal Rules For Creating Powerful Affirmations
1. Affirmations MUST be stated in the present tense.
We need to be very mindful of the language that we use. Avoid using
wording like “I will...” which is in future tense. Instead, focus on making
affirmations that start with: “I am” or “I have.”
2. Use POSITIVE language
Negative language often sneaks in to sabotage an otherwise awesome
affirmation. Avoid including negative words like...
• No
• Never • Don’t • Won’t • Not
5 Types of Power Affirmations
1) Goal Affirmation
What is the #1 goal you want to achieve?
This affirmation references your #1 Goal - a specific, measurable milestone
that you’ve set for yourself.
For example:
 
 “I am a size 10”  
 “I make R100,000 per month”  
 “I spend two months a year in Maldives.”    “I drive a brand new, red Ferrari.” Basically, this affirmation
represents a concrete goal, only stated in positive, present tense terms.
2) “Life Now” Affirmation
How does life look once you’ve achieved your
goal? In essence, you’re describing what life is like as though you’ve already
achieved this goal.
You’ll find that most of the ‘want’ affirmations you have on your worksheet
will be “Life Now” Affirmations. So from our previous example affirmations
like...
 “I start work at 10am each morning.”
 “I work flexible hours.”
 “My ideas and contributions are valued.”
3) Why Affirmation
Why do you want to achieve this goal?
“Why” affirmations would be “I spend quality time with my family every
day.” or “I make a difference.”
If you have a Goal Affirmation of “I am very successful ” for example, your
Why Affirmation may be something like “I feel confident and attractive in my
body.”
4) Action Affirmation
What actions do you need to be taking to hit your
goals?
This affirmation is basically a reminder of the action you’ve committed to
take to keep moving forward towards your goals. So for example:
 “I exercise for 30 minutes each day”
 “I enroll in an Internet marketing course”
 “I go on a date this week”
5) Thought Affirmation
What kind of thoughts should you be thinking to
achieve your goals?
A great example is around weight loss and food. Many fit and healthy people
actually have a great relationship with food. So if your goal is around fitness
or weight loss, some fantastic Thought Affirmation you might want to take
on would be:
 “I love eating healthy and nutritious food”
 “I’m filled with energy and vitality”
 “I make healthy choices.”
