Itinerary FULL LENGTH TOUR DESCRIPTION Hidden in the KwaZulu-Natal hills is the wildlife conservancy of Tala Private Game Reserve, an area of indigenous acacia thornveld, open grassland and sensitive wetland that provides an exceptional environment in which to game and bird watch. Tala is the reserve to visit out of Durban, providing visitors with superb game viewing experiences in open vehicles, highly knowledgeable and experienced rangers and a tracker who will not fail to impress you with his bush skills. At Tala the aim is to get you close to nature, interacting with the environment and animals, and experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of the African bush. The reserve, which spans nearly 3000 hectares and incorporates many diverse natural environments, features well over 300 bird species and big game that includes buffalo, rhino, kudu, hippo, giraffe and the rare sable antelope. Several distinctive and remarkable plant species are also found on Tala. Toilet facilities are available 01:30 – 03:30 Open vehicle game drive 03:30 – 03:45 Toilet stop and re-board the coaches 03:45 – 05:00 Return to the quayside in Durban by coach Approximate duration: 5 hours OPERATIONAL NOTES - Guests are not permitted to use cellular phones on or during the game drives - Guests are also not permitted to speak loudly or stand up on the game drive vehicles, as this will disturb the animals - Smoking is not permitted during the game-drives - The roads in the game reserve are gravel. There are also inclines and certain parts of the game-drive can be bumpy - Comfortable clothing, binoculars and a sun hat are strongly recommended - For safety reasons, no children under the age of 6 years are allowed on the open vehicles - There is a small Curio Shop at Tala. Please note that no cash is accepted on the premises.
