Relieving Head Teacher Science
Expressions of interest are invited from teachers interested in a career opportunity relieving in the position of Head teacher
Science from 27th January 2017 to 1st May 2018. The position with be located at:
Sir Joseph Banks High School, Bankstown Network, Ultimo Region
Turvey Street, Revesby, 2212.
An expression of interest addressing the criteria, of no more than 3 pages in length should be submitted to Murray
Kitteringham, Principal at [email protected] by 5pm on Friday 2 December 2016.
Statement of duties
This position will support the Principal with the operation of the whole school (7-12). Specifically, the successful applicant will
teach Senior Physics and junior Science, and lead and manage the Science faculty and work as a member of the school's
Executive Team.
Selection criteria

Approval to teach Senior Physics or Chemistry or Biology and Junior Science and willingness to teach Senior Physics

Demonstrated ability to lead staff in the development and implementation of teaching and learning programs Teaching

Willingness and ability to lead and implement the school's strategic directions through whole school and faculty initiatives.

Understanding of the educational implications for supporting students from a diverse range of backgrounds including
NESB and low socio-economic needs .

Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies.
One of the referees listed must be the applicant’s current principal or supervisor for non-school-based staff. Expressions of
interest must not exceed 3 A4 pages and require the signature of the applicant’s current principal or supervisor.
