Job Description: Coaching and Workforce Development Manager
Purpose
Relationships
To lead and develop programmes and systems that will create a curling
workforce that can be deployed as coaches, officials and volunteers, to
help develop and grow the game in Scotland.
Working with other RCCC staff, volunteers, coaches, committees, relevant
partners including sportscotland and reporting to the CEO.
Planning
Conduct or commission research that will develop and deliver a needs led
workforce development plan for curling aligned to the national coaching,
club and volunteering frameworks and inform curriculum development for
training programmes, processes and courses
Design & implement training courses & qualifications for curling coaches
and officials in line with a workforce model and the coach/player
pathways
To design and deliver support programmes and opportunities for existing
and new coaches, officials and volunteers which meets the needs of the
sport such as through up-skilling & continuing professional development.
Design quality assurance measures so that the standards of training
remain high
Organise appropriate CPD opportunities for coaches and officials at all
stages of the pathway including an annual conference.
Management
Manage the resources that are applied to all training courses and
assessment processes
Lead and manage the tutor and assessor recruitment, training &
mentoring programme
Maintain an accurate and up to date workforce database, website content
and other resources, that help to support individuals in the workforce
Actively promote the role of the curling workforce, manage perceptions
and expectations of the roles of coaches and officials
Communication
Proactive communication is effective with members, staff, volunteers and
a wide range of partners including: clubs, development groups, ice rinks,
local authorities, sportscotland and the World Curling Federation.
Contribute to the development of workforce tools and resources via the
website
Share examples of good practice with members and the community
Monitor and evaluate all work and provide reports to relevant staff,
committees, officers and partners as requested
Provide the CEO and partners with quarterly reports on progress against
the business plan and annual reports on progress against the long term
strategy.
