The Faculty of Social Sciences was
established at the legal predecessor of
Szent István University (Gödöllõ University
of Agricultural Sciences) in 1987. A year
later its name was changed to Faculty of
Economics and Social Sciences to reflect all
academic programs available.
The Faculty of Economics and Social
Sciences has become the largest faculty of
Szent István University with more than
5000 students attending its courses. Eleven
BA/BSc courses are offered in four scientific fields.
Students obtaining Bachelors degrees may go on to the Masters level, and
subsequently to PhD level at the Faculty. The Faculty's popularity is reflected in the
great number of foreign students, besides native Hungarians, enrolling in the
trainings held in Hungarian and English. To retain its competitive edge, the Faculty
places a great emphasis on the quality of education. It is in the interest of both the
Faculty and its students to offer degrees that not only maintain but strengthen their
position on the labor market.
The easily accessible main campus is located in beautiful surroundings with good
infrastructure in Gödöllõ. The Faculty also has a Budapest campus. Moreover, it
offers Bachelor and Master degree programs at the Faculty of Economics of the
