Delight as CPFT team gets Royal seal of approval
EXCELLENT: Kyran Brivio (centre) with the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment team who work across Peterborough, Huntingdonshire
and Fenland
A team of colleagues from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust has become only the fifth
in the UK to have their work rated as excellent by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
The Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHTT), which provides assessment and care for people in
Peterborough, Huntingdonshire and Fenland, recently underwent a rigorous standards review.
The Royal College’s Special Committee for Professional Practice and Ethics has now delivered its verdict,
giving the team’s work an accreditation rating of excellent. The team is one of only five in the UK to have
achieved the excellent rating.
Kyran Brivio, service manager for CRHTT, said: “The team is delighted to have been given this accreditation
and the rating of excellent mirrors their hard work and commitment.

“They do an incredible job and it is fantastic to be recognised in this way and to become one of only five teams
in the country to have reached the excellence standard.
“Some of our service-users and carers were also involved in the accreditation process and I would also like to
thank them for finding the time to take part.
“Their feedback is essential and their views on what we are doing well, and what we can improve, will continue
to shape what we do.”
The Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week providing
assessment and home treatment for people experiencing a mental health crisis who may otherwise need to be
admitted to one of CPFT’s inpatient wards.
The in-depth review looked at four key areas including how the service is structured, staff development, care
planning, and the range of interventions and support offered by the team to service-users and their carers.
