After months of waiting, the grant reviews came back: “outstanding,”
“excellent,” and “fair.” What?! How can this be? Why is the third review so out of
line with the first two? Can’t the reviewer see the inherent beauty and necessity
of the project?
In this interactive session, we will attempt to unravel the mystery of the
hard-to-please grant reviewer. Through an exploration of our collective
experiences as grant writers and peer reviewers, we will consider the existence
and nature of grant reviewer #3 as well as ways to win them over.
