USHERS
SOCIETY
The object of the Blessed Sacrament
Usher’s Society is to provide sufficient
ushers for services held at Blessed
Sacrament Church, assist the Church
in carrying out its social and athletic
activities, and to promote the
spiritual, moral, social and physical
well being of the members of the
Society.

Any male adult, 18 years of age or
older, interested in the purpose and
aims of the Blessed Sacrament Ushers
Society, may apply for membership.
MEETINGS
The regular meeting of the Society is
held on the third Thursday of every
month at 8:00 P.M in the field
house.


WHAT DO THE
USHERS DO?
The Blessed Sacrament Ushers Society is a
two-tiered organization that works to meet
the needs of both the Church and the
Athletic Programs at Blessed Sacrament.
The Blessed Sacrament Ushers Society
operates an annual budget of over $60,000.
Funds are raised through several
fundraisers spearheaded by the Ushers,
and include the Cash Bonanza, the
Football Lottery and our well-known
basketball and wrestling tournaments. We
are always looking for new ideas on
fundraising. We experimented with a
“Harley Davidson raffle” and previously
had Nascar and Hunting raffles.
ANNUAL EXPENSES
COVERED BY THE USHERS
The Blessed Sacrament Ushers cover
many of the expenses of running the girl’s
and boy’s JV and varsity basketball, soccer,
cross-country, swimming, girl’s JV and
varsity cheerleading, boy’s JV and varsity
football, wrestling, K-4th grade basketball
program, and the grade school and high
school church league basketball teams. In
addition, the Ushers co-sponsor the annual
altar server’s picnic. The costs of running
these programs, providing uniforms and
the shared maintenance and upkeep of our
athletic facilities, and one-call phone alert
systems, are a huge savings to the entire
school as these expenses are not included
in the annual operating budget for our
school.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The Blessed Sacrament Ushers are very
proud of the following past projects:

$11,000 in renovations of Bixby
Field bleachers

$6,500 donation of chairs and
tables to library project
-
$15,000 in cash and donated
$5,000 in labor in gym
renovations
-
$1,000 for banners for the last
year’s Athletic Teams and
awards
-
$2,000 Gymnasium concession
stand and equipment and labor

The Blessed Sacrament Ushers Society has
existed for over 40 years because of one
reason - it is made up of dedicated, caring
men of faith who put the needs of the
parish and others before their own. Please
