Services include health and parenting support, hire services, immunisation, childcare and are offered to families and children living, working or studying in the City of Melbourne. Also included in this guide are additional support services that may help you and your family. Family health services Maternal and child health Our maternal and child health service is free and supports your child’s health and development form birth until school age. The service provides initial home visits, appointments, new parent groups and clinics. Community immunisation sessions run at various centres for families with children who meet the eligibility criteria. If you are part of our maternal and child health program, nurses offer vaccinations for children 0–4 years in your scheduled check-up. Secondary school students in the City of Melbourne receive vaccinations through the Department of Health School Immunisation Program.
