Themes
This term we will be taking part in fairy tale activities, summer fun and we will also be helping our Pre
school leavers prepare for their transition to school. Please see our notice boards in the corridor for
daily activities and learning experiences.
Summer trip to Gulliver’s theme park Thursday 15th June
The children and staff are looking forward to our summer trip. We would ask that families meet us in
the main hall by 9.15am ready to board the coaches at 9.30am. On arrival at Gulliver’s families will
be free to enjoy the parks attractions. We will be meeting up at 12.00pm for a picnic lunch if parents
would like to join us with their picnic.
We will need to be back on the coach by 2.00pm prompt to return to Bizzy Bears.
Bizzy Bears will be closed on Thursday 15th June for normal sessions due to our trip.
Parents voice meeting
Sarah will be holding a coffee Morning on Wednesday 5th July at 9.30am. We welcome
parents/carers to contribute their ideas and views about all aspects of our provision.
Billing annual fayre
Bizzy Bears will once again be at this years Billing Annual Fayre on Saturday 24th June here at the
pavilion. We would welcome donations of any unwanted soft toys for our teddy tombola. All money
raised will go towards our leavers fun day and celebration in July.
Please come along and see us on the day as well as our teddy tombola there will be fun for
everyone including our own Bizzy Bears beach, water fun, play dough, arts and crafts and glitter
body painting.
This year the summer fayre includes a car boot sale at the top of the field. Pitches are £7.00 and will
need to be pre booked. You can book a pitch by contacting Bizzy Bears or the Billing parish council.
There are also still some pitches available for stalls(crafts, cakes, jewellery, toys etc) if anyone is
interested in having a stall please let us know.
Places for September 2017
We are currently registering new children for September 2017. We have spaces for children age 2-4
years. We offer funded Early learning for 2,3 and 4 year old children depending on eligibility. If you
have a family member or friend that may be interested please pass on our contact details or
alternatively you are welcome to bring them along to meet us.
Parents evening/ Leavers transition document consultations
We will be holding an informal open evening for all parents/carers on Monday 26th June 6.00 pm –
7.30 pm. There will be an opportunity for all parents to discuss your child’s progress with their key
person. Parents of our school leavers will be able to discuss their child’s transition to school and
complete the necessary documents. We will also be giving parents the opportunity to look back over
the past year by displaying photographs of all the children taking part in activities at Bizzy Bears.
All staff are involved in the open evening so are unable to provide any child supervision so if possible
adults only to attend please. Your child’s key person will arrange individual appointment times w/b
19th June.
Bizzy Bears values your views and opinions about the service we offer and there will be
opportunities for you to share your opinions with us. If you are unable to attend and would like to
meet with your child’s key person at an alternative time please speak to them to arrange this.
Sun Safety
As the weather is turning warmer please can all children bring in a sun hat and a named bottle of sun
cream. Please can we also ask that you apply sun cream to your child before coming to pre school
and we will top it up as required. The children enjoy being outside in the warmer weather but we do
limit the time they are out when the weather becomes particularly warm and extra drinks are
supplied.
Lunch boxes
From Monday 5th June there will be a tub available in each changing room for the children to place
their lunch boxes in for ease of transportation before and after lunch. Please help us by naming your
child’s lunch bag and drinks bottle. Please can we also remind parents that children need a drink in
their packed lunch and a cool block in the warm weather as we are unable to refrigerate all packed
lunches.
Tots mornings in Partnership with St Andrews CEVA school.
Due to growing popularity we will be continuing to working in partnership with St Andrews CEVA
school in Ecton Brook to put on tots sessions for under 5’s in the local community. The sessions will
be based at St Andrews CEVA school on Ecton Brook road in their community room and will include
fun, games, arts and crafts and refreshments. Please let family and friends know. All welcome! For
more information please see the poster on the parents board or speak to a member of staff.

Leavers celebration and Pre school Fun Day
We will be holding this years fun day on Friday July 21st. There will be two bouncy castles, fun
activities and a presentation for our Pre-School leavers.
The morning session will run as usual until 11.45am. All children and families are then invited
from 12pm-2.30pm to join us for a teddy bears picnic, with a picnic and their teddy bear including
all those who do not attend a Friday session.
A presentation to our Pre school leavers will be held between 12.30pm-1.00pm. We will then
continue the afternoon with fun activities, art and craft activities and games. We do not charge for
this event, all money raised from events during the year including, group photos and the summer
fayre will go towards the fun day.
