A DECREE TO AMEND THE REAL ESTATE AGENTS ACT 2006
IN exercise of the powers vested in me as Vice-President of the Republic of Fiji by virtue of the Office of the
Vice-President and Succession Decree 2009 I hereby make the following Decree:
Part 1 — PRELIMINARY
Short title and commencement
1.—(1) This Decree may be cited as the Real Estate Agents Act (Amendment) Decree 2009.
(2) This Decree comes into force on a date to be appointed by the Minister by notice in the Gazette.
Part 2 — AMENDMENT OF THE ACT

Section 4 amended
Section 4 of the Real Estate Agents Act 2006 (No. 13 of 2006) is amended—
(a)
(b)
in subsection (2) by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting—
"(b) four other members appointed by the Minister of whom one shall be appointed Deputy
Chairperson by the Minister."
in subsection (3) by deleting the whole subsection.
Part 3 — TRANSITIONAL
Cessation of existing appointments
3. Notwithstanding anything in section 4(4) of the Real Estate Agents Act 2006, every person who is a member
of the Real Estate Licensing Board immediately before this Decree comes into force shall thereupon cease to hold
office but shall be eligible for re-appointment.
