NEG coating/Acceptance tests

PU SCHOTTKY (Responsible: Jorge Sanchez Quesada)
– 4 chambers received (weight ~80 kilos each, very fragile): 2/4 need to be coated
– optical inspection of the 4 chambers have dust, projections, metallic shavings, oxidation,
scratches and white spots.

method to remove the oxidation to be found by EN-MME,
then degreasing (to avoid the trapping of chemical residuals)
for the 2 with coating: techniques for removing the oxidation should be tested before the coating of
the real piece (coating, adhesion test, end of validation). Otherwise high risk for NEG peel-off
and finally NEG coating (week 29-30?)
BPM for Tune (Responsible: Joel Albertone)
– After the acceptance test there is peel-off (dust-like).
– ACTION: remove NEG dust, perform a 2nd acceptance test (week 26-27): results complying
with the specification and ready for installation. A second unit is under testing.

LNS: SEM acceptance test is completed, device available today. The result is good
after bake out.
