This means referees at grassroots level can now enjoy many of the online processes currently available to colleagues operating at the highest levels of the game. Following success of online referee registration over the past three years, we are now in a position to allow you commence registering as a referee for the coming 2014-2015 season, via The FA’s new Whole Game System. You will no longer be able to register by using the Member Services area of our website. In order to register you will need to complete the registration process by clicking on the following link: https://wholegame.thefa.com You will require your FAN number and password to log in. The cost to register will remain unchanged for the 2014-2015 season at £20.00. Your password will be the same one that is linked to your FAN Number but unfortunately we do not have access to individual’s passwords, so if you do not remember your own password, you can re-set it by clicking on the following link: http://www.thefa.com/account/RequestPasswordReset A complete guide to the registration process has been produced by The FA. The link is given below and I would recommend that you take the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the content before starting the process: http://www.thefa.com/my-football/more/whole-game/referee-registration When you come to enter the names of the Leagues that you officiate on, it is important that you enter the full name of the League, including the league sponsor’s name. A full list of all Leagues within Leicestershire & Rutland County FA is given below. You will be asked to indicate the age groups in which you intend to officiate. Please note that your reply to this question will be used by the FA to determine whether you have a sufficiently up-to-date Criminal Records Check (“CRC” – previously known as a “CRB check”). With effect from 01 September 2014, all referees who are at least 16 years old must have a FA CRC issued after 01 January 2010 in order to be allowed to officiate “frequently” or “intensively” in youth football from the 2014-2015 season. Full details of how to complete the verification process is given below. Confirmation of the steps to be taken to update a CRC will be supplied individually to all concerned when appropriate. Please note that CRBs obtained for any employer other than The FA is not valid. “Frequently” means once a week or more. “Intensively” means on four or more days in a thirty day period or overnight. If you are at least 16 years old but do not intend to officiate “frequently” or “intensively” in youth football, you should select the “Open Age Only” option. You will then be able to officiate after 1st September 2014 even if your CRC was issued before 1st January 2010. You will then also still be allowed to officiate in youth football so long as you do not do so “frequently” or “intensively”. Any referee aged 16+ on 01 July 2014, wishing to referee Youth Football or Adult / Youth Football during season 2014-2015 onwards must ensure that your CRC verification checks have been completed. If your verification is not fully completed you will NOT be permitted to officiate in youth football. The cost of this verification, for all referees classed as ‘Volunteers’ (Level 4 to Level 10) will be fully met by the County FA.
